Piccadilly, Stockport

NC Architecture were commissioned to design a modern apartment block at the vacant Piccadilly site in Stockport. The site is sloping and the client’s brief was developed to make the most efficient use for the site, by setting the ground floor at the highest part of the site and part basement parking accessed from the lower part of the site. This would minimise the amount of excavation for the basement car park. As the lower level car park extended across the whole site, at ground floor the flat roof would be transformed to act as communal amenity space.

The apartment block offers a total of 143 mix of one bed and two bed apartments over 11 floors. Vertical access is via a central core. The materials chosen for the external finishes is a mixture of high spec cladding panels and bold colours, to give it the visual edge in the wider Stockport area.
