We are delighted to have obtained Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent (LBC) for the conversion of Upper Paradise Mill. The building is Grade II Listed and is now being converted into 10 apartments, two per floor.

Tunnage Square, Liverpool

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Tunnage Square is a luxury 5-storey aparthotel development along Duke Street, Liverpool. Soon after Planning Permission was granted, we undertook detailed design, which enabled construction to commence in Summer 2016. The development comprises 2 x retail units at ground and 7 x serviced aparthotel units on upper floors. Duke Street has become a prime area for regeneration in recent years and the addition of this aparthotel on an empty piece of land that was formerly a disused square, demonstrates a viable use of land. On completion, the development will offer desirable accommodation set close to local amenities, including a variety of bars and restaurants. The site lies within the Ropewalks regeneration zone in Liverpool City Centre and is within walking distance to Liverpool One Shopping Centre and Liverpool Maritime Docks.

Among the alterations will be roof alterations to form a lightweight zinc-clad extension, which will create a modern contemporary appearance and will complement the existing brick facade. The existing brick facade will be cleaned and repaired / made good where required, to retain its original character. All windows and doors will be re-glazed in double-glazed units within timber or metal frames painted black.

Edgecroft Appeal Success

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

NC Architecture are delighted to have won an appeal for our client for a magnificent six bed replacement dwelling over four floors, in Alderley Edge. The Council had originally refused the Application without consideration to our argument, that the significance of retention of the existing dwelling was, by far, outweighed by the merits of the proposed development and, therefore, warranted approval. Set in the desirable Alderley Edge Conservation Area and characterised by substantial properties set in spacious and well landscaped plots, Edgecroft was designed to follow a contemporary vernacular style, creating a pleasant modern design that would act as a contemporary interpretation of the Alderley Edge villas and as a complimentary addition to other modern properties in the area; a view shared by the Planning Inspectorate. The proposed 19,000sqft development, preserves and equally enhances the character and appearance of the Conservation Area. Our client is ecstatic and construction is set to commence Summer 2016.
